Chairman's View...
15th August 2002
Hello
Again
Well the season is underway and with a final friendly victory at Downshire by 7 goals to 2 we looked set to get off to a good start, but it wasn't
to be.
Between suspensions, injuries and work commitments we were several players down, so bad was the situation Reggie Dornan had to do substitute to
make up our 3 subs.
Having said that Tobermore also had players missing and deserved their 3-2 victory.
An excellent performance by their number 10 Michael Dillon making the difference on the day.
Tuesday night seen us in a local derby with our friendly rivals the Welders.
They had chances in the first half and goalie Allen Huxley was in superb form for us..
In the second half, although they scored in the 46th minute, Dundela put in an even better performance and fully deserved their draw.
This Saturday sees the first league visit to Wilgar Park by Lurgan Celtic, and with Glentoran having no match we anticipate a bigger crowd than
usual.
Hopefully made up of true football fans and the match played in a good atmosphere.
So until next week enjoy your football whoever you are.
Jack Majury (Dundela Football Club - Chairman)
